Holiday Gift Giving - Three Steps to Choosing the Perfect Gift

The holidays will look different this year, but that doesn’t have to mean that the meaning of the season has changed at all. It’s still a season to celebrate the birth of Jesus, and share your love with family and friends.

Gift giving has always had special meaning to me. 

When I give a gift, I want it to mean something.  I've never been one to gift just for the sake of gifting.  I'd rather give.  Give something that the recipient will treasure.  The gift of time to a tired mom, the gift of experience for a child who doesn't need anymore toys.  Gifting was part of the reason I wanted to start Simpli Stamped.  I wanted to share my passion for faith and empowerment.

How to choose the perfect gift:

• Make it personal.  Think about your recipient and where they are in their life.  Are they going through anything hard? Are they fighting a battle they may feel like they are losing? Do they give you hope in a way you've never been inspired before?  That's were to start. For instance - this warrior ring is the perfect gift for the brave woman fighting breast cancer.

• Be practical.  If  the person you are buying for uses their hands all day because she's a landscaper or a potter, go a different direction.  Take a look at this necklace.  It's not so fancy she would feel uncomfortable wearing it to work, but it's pretty enough to remind her of how special she is. 

• Give a gift that continues to give.  You've heard that phrase before - the gift that keeps on giving.  If something is to be truly appreciated, it needs to be about the giftee.  When it is something that continues to give them joy, and possibly remind them of their strength, it will keep giving, because they'll keep wearing it. 

The thought IS what counts.

Personal, practical, and it continues to give.  That's all you need to choose the perfect gift for someone special.  They won't be able to help but love what you have chosen for them, because it had everything to do with them and how much you love them.
